WHAT IS COLLECTED

• ▸Posts & reactions: the content you create on the platform.
• ▸Profile photo: if you choose to upload one.
• ▸SMS reminder preferences: if you opt in to reminders, day and time are stored.

HOW YOUR DATA IS USED

• ▸ To provide the hilofriends service — your posts, feed, and friend connections.
• ▸To verify your account when you log in.
• ▸To let your friends find and connect with you.
• ▸To send you a weekly SMS reminder to post, if you have opted in.

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

hilofriends is built on Firebase which handles authentication, database storage, and file hosting. Sentry is used for error tracking to help fix bugs — error reports contain technical data only, never your personal content.

If you opt in to weekly reminders, Twilio is used to deliver SMS messages. Twilio receives your phone number and the message content. It is not used for any other purpose. See Terms & Conditions for full opt-out and messaging details.

SMS & TEXT MESSAGING

• ▸No sharing of mobile numbers: your mobile phone number will never be shared with, sold to, or rented to any third party for their marketing purposes.
• ▸Message frequency: if you opt in to weekly reminders, you will receive 1 message per week at the day and time you selected. Message frequency may vary.
• ▸Message and data rates may apply. Check with your mobile carrier for details.
• ▸Opt out at any time: reply STOP to any reminder text to immediately cancel all SMS messages. Reply HELP for support information.
• ▸ You can also remove reminders at any time from the Notifications page in your account settings.

DATA DELETION

You can delete your account at any time from your profile settings. Deleting your account permanently removes your posts, profile, and all associated data. Some data may persist in backups for up to 7 days before being fully purged.

WHO SEES YOUR POSTS

Your posts are only visible to people you've added as friends on hilofriends. They are not public and cannot be found by search engines or non-friends. If you become friends with someone new, they will only see posts you make after you became friends, not any past posts.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

This policy will be updated if anything meaningful changes. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the latest version.
